What happens when my trial ends?
You land on the Free plan. Drafts, projects, your published pages, and export keep working, and everything already in your library stays readable. Saving new sources and Ask Sidelong resume when you pick a plan.
Can I pay right away?
Yes. Writer and Pro start the moment you sign up for them. If you would rather look around first, start free: you get 14 days of everything, no credit card, and you can upgrade whenever you are ready.
Is unlimited really unlimited?
For AI actions on the standard models, yes. Ask and edit as much as you like. The only thing we step in on is scripted or bulk automation, so Sidelong stays fast for everyone. The advanced and max models carry monthly allowances, and library saves are capped separately because every new source is processed and stored.
What stays free forever?
The writing itself. Unlimited drafts and projects, your hosted publication, newsletter sending to your first 500 subscribers, and one-click export to markdown or HTML. Free does not include Ask Sidelong or new library saves.
What counts as an AI action?
One request to Ask Sidelong: a chat message, a brainstorm, an AI edit or fix, pulling sources for a passage, or a round of feedback on a draft. Deep research reports are metered separately because they run far longer. Every edit is a suggestion you accept or reject; nothing changes in your draft on its own.
What counts as a library save?
Anything new entering your library: a page saved with the extension, a forwarded newsletter, a tweet, a video, or a podcast. However long the source, one item is one save. Kindle imports are the exception: books imported with their highlights are free and never count toward your saves.
Are newsletter sends really unlimited?
Sends are, on every plan, as often as you publish. What changes by plan is list size: Free sends to your first 500 subscribers and Writer to 2,500. Pro includes 100,000, and past that you pay $5 a month for each additional 1,000 subscribers, so your list never hits a wall.
Can I switch plans later?
Anytime. Upgrades take effect immediately, downgrades at the end of your billing period.
How do I cancel?
From settings, in a couple of clicks. You keep every draft and every save, your subscriber list exports as a CSV, and you can take all of it anywhere.
